Cruis respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through compliance with this our privacy policy referred to here as ("Privacy Policy") or ("Policy"). The Privacy Policy describes the information we collect about you, and how that information is used or shared. In addition, the Policy explains the rights and choices you have to control how we handle your Personal Information.
In this Privacy Policy, “Cruis,” “we,” or “our” means Cruis Inc. “Cruis Platform(s)” means Cruis operated websites, applications, facilities, and communication channels. “Captain(s)” means a person who uses Cruis Platforms to provide the service of transporting goods or persons. “Passenger(s)” means a person who uses Cruis Platforms to obtain transportation service for themselves, other persons, or the transportation of goods. “Trip(s)” means the service of transporting goods or persons provided by Captain to Passenger.
The terms “You” and “User(s)”, are defined as any person who uses, downloads, signs up for, or signs into Cruis Platforms as Captain or Passenger. This Privacy Policy applies only to personal information that reasonably could be associated with Captains or Passengers. The Policy, however, does not apply to aggregate information or information that does not identify Users.
Please read this Privacy Policy before using or accessing Cruis Platforms. By accessing or using any part of Cruis Platforms, you are agreeing that any information that you provide to Cruis Inc is not considered protected information, and will only be subject to our Privacy Policy and any applicable state laws that govern the privacy and security of such information. For purposes of clarity, The use of any Cruis Platforms communicates the understanding and acceptance of this Privacy Policy.
When you use Cruis Platforms, we collect the information you provide, usage information, and information about your device. We also collect information about you from other sources like service providers, and optional programs in which you participate, which we may combine with other information we have about you. Here are the types of information we collect about you:
Great trips start with an easy and accurate pickup. Cruis Platforms collects location information (including GPS and WiFi data, IP address, and Bluetooth data) differently depending on your Cruis app settings and device permissions as well as whether you are using our Platforms as a Passenger or a Captain:
We collect information about your use of Cruis Platforms, including trip information like the date, time, destination, distance, route, payment, and whether you used a promotional or referral code. Our e-bikes and scooters may collect mobile sensor data, such as speed, direction, height, acceleration, deceleration, and other technical data. We also collect information about your interactions with Cruis Platforms like our apps and websites, including the pages and content you view and the dates and times of your use. We may also infer information from your use of or information you provide us in your interactions with Cruis Platforms.
(3) Device Information:We collect information about the devices you use to access Cruis Platforms, including device model, IP address, type of browser, version of operating system, identity of carrier and manufacturer, radio type (such as 4G), preferences and settings (such as preferred language), application installations, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, and push notification tokens. If you are a Captain, we also collect mobile sensor data from your device (such as speed, direction, height, acceleration, deceleration, and other technical data). If you have installed a Cruis Platform device in your vehicle (e.g., a Cruis dashboard device or tablet), that device may similarly collect sensor data and other information like location, as described when you choose and set up such devices.
(4) Communications Between Passengers and Captains:We work with a third party to facilitate phone calls and text messages between Passengers and Captains without sharing either party’s actual phone number with the other. But while we use a third party to provide the communication service, we collect information about these communications and Cruis Platform chat communications, including the participants’ phone numbers, the date and time, and the contents of SMS and chat messages. For security purposes, we may also monitor or record the contents of phone calls made through Cruis Platforms, but we will always let you know we are about to do so before the call begins.
(5) Address Book Contacts:You may set your device permissions to grant Cruis access to your contact lists and direct Cruis to access your contact list, for example, to help you refer friends to Cruis. If you choose to do this, we will access the names and contact information of the people in your address book.
(6) Calender Information:You may set your device permissions or otherwise grant Cruis access to your chosen calendar and direct Cruis to access calendar information, for example, to help you get alerts to order a trip for your upcoming travel. If you choose to do this, we will access and store information available in your calendar to use in providing you with these optional features.
(7) Cookies, Analytics, and Third-Party Technologies:We collect information through the use of “cookies”, tracking pixels, data analytics tools, SDKs, and other third-party technologies to understand how you navigate through Cruis Platforms and interact with Cruis advertisements, to make your Cruis experience safer, to learn what content is popular, to improve your site experience, to serve you better ads on other sites, and to save your preferences. Cookies are small files that web servers place on your device; they are designed to store basic information and to help websites and apps recognize your browser. We may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. A session cookie disappears after you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains after you close your browser and may be accessed every time you use Cruis Platforms.
Service providers and other parties provide us with the information needed for core aspects of Cruis Platforms, as well as for additional services, programs, loyalty benefits, and promotions that can enhance your Cruis experience. These service providers and other parties include background check providers, insurance partners, financial service providers, marketing providers, and other businesses. We obtain the following information about you from these parties:
If you use Cruis through an organization, or if an organization has utilized Cruis to book a trip for you on your behalf, we will collect information about you from those parties, such as your name, address, Pick up and drop off locations, and contact information in order to fulfill the trip.
Referral Programs:Friends help friends use Cruis Platforms. If someone refers you to Cruis, we will collect information about you from that referral including your name, address, and contact information.
Other Users and Sources:Other users or public or third-party sources such as law enforcement, insurers, media, or pedestrians may provide us information about you, for example as part of an investigation into an incident or to provide you support.

Sometimes the law, government entities, or other regulatory bodies impose demands and obligations on us with respect to the services we seek to provide. In such a circumstance, we may use your personal information to respond to those demands or obligations.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for money -- no one can buy the personal information we collect from and about you and we do not act as a data broker. However, we may need to share your personal information with other users, third parties, and service providers to make Cruis Platforms work and to deliver relevant personalized ads to you inside and outside of Cruis Platforms. Some of these disclosures may constitute “sharing” or “selling” of personal information under certain U.S. state privacy laws. This section otherwise explains when and why we share your information.
Passenger information shared with Captain: As part of fulfilling the trip request and enabling the trip, we share with the Captain the Passenger’s pickup and destination locations, name, profile photo, contact information, rating, number of trips and years as a Passenger, information the Passenger includes in their profile, and any additional stops the Passenger inputs into the Platform. Once the trip is finished, we share the Passenger’s rating and feedback with the Captain. (We remove the Passenger’s identity associated with ratings and feedback when we share it with Captains, but a Captain may be able to identify the Passenger that provided the rating or feedback.)
Captain information shared with Passenger: Upon a Captain accepting a requested trip, we will share with the Passenger the Captain’s name, profile photo, contact information, rating, real-time location, vehicle make, model, color, license plate, and any other information in the Captain’s profile (like the number of trips and years as a Captain).
Lost and Found Items:If you, as Captain or Passenger, report a lost or found item to us, we will seek to connect you with the relevant Passenger or Captain. This may include sharing all information necessary information to facilitate the return of a lost or found item.
Multi Passenger Trips:When multiple Passengers travel in a shared trip, we share each Passenger’s name and profile picture to ensure safety. Passengers may also see each other’s pickup and drop-off locations as part of knowing the route while sharing the trip.
Trips Requested or Paid For by Others:Some Trips you take may be requested or paid for by others. If you take one of those Trips or a portion of a Trip, we may share some or all of your Trip details with that other party, including your name, contact information, the date, time, charge, rating given, region of Trip, and pick up and drop off locations.
Linked or Family Accounts:If you use any of Cruis Platforms as part of a family account linked with others or if you direct us to share your information with trusted contacts, we will share information with those parties about your use of Cruis Platforms, such as the live location of your Trip.
Referral Programs:If you refer someone to Cruis Platforms, we will let them know that you generated the referral. If another user referred you, we will share information about your use of Cruis Platforms with that user. For example, a referral source may receive a bonus when you join Cruis Platforms or complete a certain number of trips.
Depending on whether you’re a Passenger or a Captain, Cruis may share the following categories of your personal information to provide you with a variety of the Platforms’ features and services:

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide you and our other users with Cruis Platforms. This means we keep your profile information for as long as you maintain an account. We retain transactional information such as trips and payments to ensure we can perform legitimate business functions, such as accounting or tax obligations. We also retain your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our terms and policies. If you request account deletion, we will delete your information as set forth in the “Deleting Your Account” section below.
We take reasonable and appropriate measures designed to protect your personal information. But no security measures can be 100% effective, and we cannot guarantee the security of your information, including against unauthorized intrusions or acts by third parties.
As explained more below, Cruis provides ways for you to access and delete your personal information as well as exercise applicable data rights that give you certain control over your personal information.

Cruis Platforms are not directed to children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18; accordingly, we don’t knowingly share personal information from children under the age of 18 for cross-context behavioral advertising nor do we sell that information. If we find out that a child under 18 has given us personal information, we will take steps to delete that information. Sensitive Personal Information:Cruis does not use or disclose sensitive personal information other than to provide you with Cruis Platforms and as permitted by California law. We do not sell or share sensitive personal information for the purpose of cross-context behavioral advertising.
Deidentified Information:As mentioned in our Privacy Policy, personal information does not include information that is de-identified. When we receive or use deidentified information, we maintain it in deidentified form and do not attempt to reidentify the information.
Retention of Personal Information:We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide you and our other users with Cruis Platforms. This means we keep your profile information for as long as you maintain an account. We retain transactional information such as trips and payments for at least seven years to ensure we can perform legitimate business functions, such as accounting for tax obligations. We also retain your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our terms and policies.
Your California Rights Regarding Your Personal Information:California law provides some California residents with the rights listed below.
Right to Know:You have the right to know and see what personal information we have collected about you, including:
You have the right to request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you (and direct our service providers to do the same).
Right to Correct:You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
Right to Opt Out of Sharing.You have the right to opt out of the sharing of your personal information to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Other Rights.You can request certain information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes during the preceding calendar year. This request is free and may be made once a year. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of the rights listed above.
To respond to requests of rights excersising, we may need to verify your request either by asking you to log in and authenticate your account or otherwise verify your identity by providing information about yourself or your account. Authorized agents can make a request on your behalf if you have given them legal power of attorney or we are provided proof of signed permission, verification of your identity, and, in some cases, confirmation that you provided the agent permission to submit the request. Response Timing and Format. We aim to respond to a consumer request in relation to these rights within 45 days of receiving that request. If we require more time, we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing.
Colorado law provides some Colorado residents with the rights listed below.

Email Subscriptions:You can always unsubscribe from our commercial or promotional emails by clicking unsubscribe in those messages. We will still send you transactional and relational emails about your use of Cruis Platforms.
Text Messages:You can opt out of receiving commercial or promotional text messages by texting the word END to the number that messaged you from the mobile device receiving the messages. You may also opt out of receiving all texts from Cruis (including transactional or relational messages) by texting the word STOPALL to the number that messaged you from the mobile device receiving the messages. Note that opting out of receiving all texts may impact your use of Cruis Platforms. Captains can also opt out of Captain-specific messages by texting STOP in response to a Captain SMS. To re-enable texts you can text START in response to an unsubscribe confirmation SMS.
Push Notifications:You can opt out of receiving push notifications through your device settings. Please note that opting out of receiving push notifications may impact your use of Cruis Platforms (such as receiving a notification that your Captain has arrived).
Profile Information:You can review and edit certain account information you have chosen to add to your profile by logging in to your account settings and profile.
Location Information:You can prevent your device from sharing location information through your device’s system settings. But if you do, this may impact Cruis’s ability to provide you our full range of features and services. You may also control some elements of sharing your location with Cruis in your Cruis account settings.
Cookie Tracking:You can modify your cookie settings on your browser.
Accessing Your Information:If you would like to access your personal information by logging into your account and viewing things like your profile, settings, and preferences (such as your such as home and work address), trips history, or payment information. In addition, you may have some information included in things we have sent to you, such as trip receipts.
Deleting Your Account:You can request to delete your account by emailing Privacy@CruisNow.com. In some cases, however, we may not be able to delete your account if there is an issue with your account related to trust, safety, or fraud. When we delete your account, we may retain certain information for legitimate business purposes or to comply with legal or regulatory obligations. For example, we may retain your information to resolve open insurance claims, or we may be obligated to retain your information as part of an open legal claim. When we retain such data, we do so in ways designed to prevent its use for other purposes.
Cruis Platforms are not directed to children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18. If we find out that a child under 18 has given us personal information, we will take steps to delete that information. The Cruis Platforms may contain links or references to third-party websites, products, or services. Those third parties may have privacy policies that differ from ours. We are not responsible for those third parties and their websites, products, or services, and we recommend that you review their policies. Please contact those parties directly if you have any questions about their privacy policies.
We may update this Policy from time to time as Cruis Platforms' privacy policies and related laws evolve. If we update it, we will do so online, and if we make material changes, we will let you know by email. When you use Cruis Platforms, you are agreeing to the most recent terms of this Policy.
